Melanie and Jacob’s fall wedding at the Cadillac Room Lansing was filled with so much joy. From our very first meeting, the two of them valued a stress free wedding day focused on their love!
The men and women started the day getting ready at the same hotel, which helped to cut down on transit and travel time and contribute to the stress free day Melanie and Jacob had envisioned. After a brief first look near the fall trees, the entire wedding party boarded the bus and headed to downtown Lansing for photos at the Michigan Capitol Building.
As we arrived at the Capitol Building, the skies opened up and a wet sleet began to fall! Thankfully, the Capitol Building is a great photo location because it has a covered porch, so we were still able to get great photos while keeping everyone warm and dry!
After exchanging their rings and vows, Melanie and Jacob sealed their marriage with a kiss! My favorite part of their ceremony was their vows, which focused on continuing to choose each other and to fight for their marriage long after the butterflies depart. After being married for six years, I can wholeheartedly agree that these are the kind of promises that sustain a marriage during the hard seasons of life!
As guests arrived at the Cadillac House for cocktail hour, they were greated with a champagne welcome. Melanie is an avid gardner and green thumb, which was the inspiration behind the emerald and gold wedding pallet. The florists at Sparrow Bloom Co did an excelent job at bringing her vision of understated elegance to life with lots of white florals and rich greenery in both the bouquets and the reception space!
After dinner, the couple danced the night away with their friends and loved ones under the string lights. Once the party was underway, Melanie and her girls brought some extra attitude with their retro heart shaped glasses.
Melanie and Jacob, I cannot thank you enough for trusting me to photograph your wedding day! I will always remember you giving all of us vendors a shout out in your welcome speech and your grateful, cheerful wedding day disposition. I wish you two all of the happiness in the world as you continue your love story as husband and wife!
